What I was thinking.. When I saw the car accident
We were on our way home from an emotional trip to New York. I was driving in a car with Jordan and Tom when we saw a lot of commotion on the side of the road. Tom wanted to see what was going on so he pulled over. We learned quickly that someone had been killed. From talking to the people at the scene, it was apparent that whoever hit the woman had fled. We found out that the woman was Myrtle. Tom was devastated which made me sick. My thoughts for some reason went to Daisy. At first I thought it was because seeing Tom upset over Myrtle mad me angry. I wasn't sure for the reasons for my strange feelings at first but I just couldn't get Daisy out of my mind. We heard more pieces of information from different people around town and we soon found out that Gatbsy's car was involved. I couldn't believe how fast everything had changed. Our lives had been flipped upside down in an instant and nothing would ever go back to normal from then on.

What I was feeling... when I found Gatsby's body
I had just left Gatsby's house. He told me he was going for a swim. I returned to my house and was just relaxing after the long day and night we had all just experienced. It hadn't been long before I heard gunshots. I was confused as to why there were gunshots going off. I lived in a quiet neighborhood in the West Egg of Long Island, New York. It was a safe area and as long as I had lived there I never heard of any crimes or shootings going on. I wasn't sure what had happened so I decided to walk back up to Gatsby's house to see if he knew anything. I wasn't even all the way to the house when I saw blood in the pool and something floating. Gatsby's lifeless body was the most horrifying sight I had ever seen. Shocked, I walked a little a little further when the picture of George's body was visible. I didn't even know who George was at first, but it didn't take long to figure out what had happened. I was devastated to find my friend, Gatsby, dead. The events of that day and the events to follow will forever have an impact on my life.
Why I..Didn't tell Daisy about Tom's affair
People probably criticize me for not telling Daisy what I knew about Tom's affair with Myrtle. She is my cousin after all and my loyalty should be to her before anyone else. The thing is, I thought I was doing what was best by not telling her. I didn't ask to be put in the middle, but I was. I wish I had never known about Tom and Myrtle so I would have less guilt for not telling Daisy. I know my cousin very well, and I know she wouldn't have handled the situation well. Tom has had other affairs before and Daisy knows about some of them, but she always finds out after. She never knows the details or the specific women that he has cheated on her with. If I was to give Daisy that information this time, she would have gone crazy. We all know she isn't the most emotionally stable person to begin with.

What I was Thinking.. at Gatsby's Party
My neighbor, Gatsby, had thrown a few parties over the past few weeks. They seemed to be the talk of the town and certainly drew a large crowd. He seemed to organize spectacular events that kept the guests coming back in the following weeks. When a man showed up at my door inviting me to one of these prestigious parties I knew I should take the opportunity to go. At first I was confused about the invite, but I figured it was probably due to the immense amount of people and loud noise that would arise fear in Gatsby that he might begin to upset his neighbors with these large events. When I showed up I was amazed at the scale of the party, we did live in the lower scale Egg after all. Gatsby sure did pull out all the stops for this party. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. I had a lovely time talking to Jordan and the other guests and was truly enjoying myself. When the security guard approached me I was confused and genuinely scared but I think I covered that up pretty well. Come to find out all of the build up was for nothing as Gatsby simply wanted to meet me and get to know each other as neighbors, or at least that's what he said at the time.
What I was Feeling... During Daisy and Gatsby's meeting
When Gatsby approached me about setting up a meeting between himself and my cousin Daisy, I was slightly puzzled but not opposed to arranging the meeting. I didn’t quite understand it at first but as soon as they met everything made sense. I first began to get worried when Gatsby sent people to the house wishing to offer services and bringing flowers and silver. Now I know that it was all in order to impress my cousin and it sure did work. I knew of the previous relationship that daisy and Gatsby shared but I honestly didn’t think much of it. I figured it had all passed after all these years. Besides, Daisy was married, happily it seemed, to Tom. As soon as I witnessed the two of them reuniting again, I knew that it was not all in the past. Gatsby was so nervous going into the meeting that I became worried about his intentions. When Daisy first arrived I was extremely nervous that I had possible made a mistake. Should I have agreed to set up the meeting? How would Daisy react? Did I make a terrible mistake in involving myself in the situation? All of my questions and worries were put to rest as soon as they saw one another.
Why I moved to the West Egg
When I was living out west I started experiencing a lot of unhappiness. I had always thought about moving and knew that a move would be a good jump start to my career. When I started experiencing some misfortune in Minnesota I knew the time was right. I had always love New York but knew that it would be a difficult time to try to find a place to live. The opportunities available in New York were endless and it would be a great way to start fresh. I didn't have much money so when I found another man to rent a house with, it seemed that everything was falling into place. He pulled out of the agreement at the last minute but I was lucky enough to still find a cottage that I could afford. To make things even better, my cousin Daisy lived nearby so I knew I would not be alone.
